Tony Cable

CYCA Life Member Tony Cable has the distinction of being the first person to reach the 50 race milestone for the Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. He achieved that in 2015.

In 2007 Tony Cable equalled the record of 44 races then held by Tasmanian John Bennetto.  A profile on Tony prior to the 2007 Sydney Hobart is here.

In 2011 Tony was interviewed by Peter Shipway as part of the CYCA Video Archive Project, covering his then 45 Sydney Hobart races, the 1987 race on Sovereign (when it achieved the double of line honours and an overall win) and the establishment of the Quiet Little Drink.  The interview is in two parts - it can be viewed here and here.
