Zeus II is racing against time and tide to win the historic Tattersalls Cup for the Overall Winner of the 2002 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

The 30-footer,  skippered by Jim Dunstan, rounded the Iron Pot at the entrance to the Derwent River at 7.49am this morning, leaving her 11.2 nautical miles to sail.

Zeus II must finish by 10.08am to displace Bob Steel's 46-footer, Quest,  as the Overall Winner under the IMS handicap system.  Skipper Dunstan has given an ETA of 10.07am!

The wind is a light northerly of around 8-10 knots and the tide is ebbing as Zeus II sails up the river with just two hours to make the distance and win an historic second Sydney Hobar Race - 21 years since she first won in 1981.

She and the Tasmanian yacht Screw Loose are the only 30-footers to have won the Sydney Hobart Race since 1979.
