Report from BOOTS, 29 December 11.40am

"I've run out of dry clothes already. The boys seem to be managing better as they have all prepared for the race with new 'you beaut' gear"

Bang.  We fall off another wave.  Spirits are up, as are the seas but BOOTS is loving it.  The wind is on the nose and we are still having trouble making south with the forecast not offering any good reaching or running until Friday so it looks like we might be spending New Year’s bouncing up and down out here

We went down to Gabo to have a look yesterday and it was too rough to anchor so we decided to keep on going. This morning the seas are a bit tamer and the wind seems to be more consistently 25 knots with only the occasional rain shower and associated blast.

Thank goodness we have heaps of food as we're going to need every bit of it.  Last night the Rigatoni Siciliana was just the thing for a cold Bass Strait crossing.

I've run out of dry clothes already.  The boys seem to be managing better as they have all prepared for the race with new 'you beaut' gear.  The dry suits are the go for this trip.
