The ACT training yacht Gillawa is the last remaining yacht at sea of the original fleet of 85 that left Sydney on Boxing Day at the start of the 61st Rolex Sydney Hobart Yact Race.

At the moment she is set to beat her time in last year's race, when she finished at 7.33 am on January 3 after sheltering from gales.

At 5 pm today she was 30 miles south-east of St Helens with the likelihood she will be in well before January 3.

In this year's race there have been 79 finishers and five retirements, the last, Nevenka, giving up for lack of breeze.

Bravo, Gillawa!
