Oats tramping like a train to the finish

Six-time line honours winner Wild Oats XI is tramping at between 25 and 27 knots towards Tasman Island 30 nm away and is expected to finish at about 1830 in Hobart.

She has a lead of 56 nm over Anthony Bell’s Perpetual LOYAL, which is just ahead of Syd Fischer’s Ragamuffin 100. Over the last hour Wild Oats XI has been sailing at between 25 and 27 knots in a strong north-easter.
