Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race: Three out

There have been three early retirements from the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

Ark323, one of two Chinese entries, retired following a collision 300 metres after the start. All on board were safe.

Cougar II, one of two Tasmanian entries, retired at about the same time with damage to her starboard quarter.

The UK entry Lupa of London retired with unspecified damage.

Peter Hickson’s M3 from WA has returned to port with a broken forestay, has not retired but will assess her situation.

The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race starts on Boxing Day, December 26, at 1pm AEDT and will be broadcast live on the Seven Network throughout Australia webcast live to an Australian audience on Yahoo!7 and the official race website www.rolexsydneyhobart.com and also streamed via mobile.
