JANUS et Cie sets the scene at Sydney Race Village

The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) welcomes JANUS et Cie, the luxury designer and supplier of innovative indoor and outdoor furnishings, as sponsor of the Sydney Race Village for the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race for the next five years.

The Sydney Race Village will be at the very heart of the Rolex Sydney Hobart yacht race action from 9 December through to Boxing Day. Situated adjacent to the CYCA clubhouse, the Sydney Race Village will provide a stylish and comfortable dockside location for the club to host official functions and for members, visitors and crew families and friends to spend Boxing Day.

Featuring a giant screen and luxurious lounge area from which to watch the start of the 2016 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, a VIP hospitality lounge, Mumm Champagne and Peroni bars, coffee cart and food options, the race village will be styled exclusively with JANUS et Cie outdoor furnishings.

“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome JANUS et Cie as the Sydney Race Village sponsor and are thrilled about how their stylish furnishings will add to the look and feel of the village in addition to adding comfort for our guests in the lead up to and on Boxing Day,” said CYCA Commodore John Markos.

The JANUS et Cie ‘Pacific’, ‘Slant’ and ‘Dolce Vita’ ranges will be showcased in the waterside race village, using a classic navy and white colour theme for lounges, chairs, stools, tables and more.

JANUS et Cie founder and CEO, Janice Feldman, feels the partnership between the brand and the CYCA was a natural fit. “Sydney shares a similar climate to California, where JANUS et Cie was founded,” says Feldman. “The way Australians appreciate the outdoor lifestyle is something we understand and appreciate as well. JANUS et Cie Sydney Showroom Sales Manager Steve Liggett said the partnership will introduce the brand to the Yachting community in Sydney and throughout Australia.

“The Sydney Race Village at the CYCA is a perfect place for our brand to be – we originated in California which has a large sailing community and our founder Janice Feldman, who has always lived near the ocean, loves the water – in fact she spent her birthday last year cruising on Sydney harbour,” said Steve.

“We do a lot of furnishings for cruise ships, bespoke and boutique boats and luxury yachts so this is an area we’re very familiar with and love being involved in.”

 “We’re planning to host some exclusive invitation-only events at the Sydney Race Village as it’s the perfect place to showcase our furnishings in their element – the water, the docks filled with beautiful yachts, the sound of the rigging moving in the breeze and the Sydney skyline in the background.”
