Six weeks after the Applications for Entry opened for the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race 2008, applications for entry have been flooding in with the receipt of the fiftieth entry today. Race Organisers are now anticipating a bumper fleet of over 100 yachts.

Within hours of the release of the Rolex Sydney Hobart 2008 Notice of Race, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia had received its first applications for entry and now has climbed to 13, already surpassing the number of entries received this time last year.
