Fortuna
The yacht Fortuna was built by Dr., nowSir Ralph Whishaw for his own use at his home in 650 Sandy Bay Road, Hobart, under the supervision of Mr. Percy Coverdale and launched in 1946. The design was from a half model of Percy Coverdale’s “Chloe”. Fortuna has competed in five Hobart Races, the first in 1947, under the ownership of Dr. Whishaw, subsequently in 1949, 1950, 1951 and 1952 while owned by Mr. William (Bill) L Fesq from whom JB Griffin purchased her last April. Her best placings to date were fourth in the 1950 and 1951.
