Queensland moves to 2nd in Rolex Challenge

Consistently good results by the Queensland team of Yendys and Wedgetail have moved that State’s team into second in standings in the Rolex Challenge, being sailed as part of the Rolex Trophy – Rating Series being sailed off Sydney this weekend and continuing in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

Consistently good results by the Queensland team of Yendys and Wedgetail have moved that State’s team into second in standings in the Rolex Challenge,  being sailed as part of the Rolex Trophy – Rating Series being sailed off Sydney this weekend and continuing in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

The Australian team of Loki (Stephen Ainsworth) and Quantum Racing (Ray Roberts) still heads the leaderboard with 47 points after four races while Queensland has moved into second place on 57 points.  Victoria (Flirt and Fuzzy Logic) is third on 62 points.

In today’s racing, Yendys, skippered by Geoff Ross, scored a third and a second among team boats in its IRC Division while Bill Wild’s Wedgetail scored two second placings among team boats in the other IRC Division.

For Australia, Loki had a fifth place and a third place score in its IRC Division while Quantum Racing scored two first places in the other IRC Division.

Progressive Points:  Australia 47,  Queensland 57, Victoria 62, New Zealand 65,  NSW Blue 67, NSW Red 70 points.
