The 2019 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race marks the historic 75th Sydney Hobart Yacht Race - and fans from near and far will this year be able to take on the journey no matter where they are!

Virtual Regatta and the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) have brought the excitement of one of the world's great yacht races to everyone in the form of an engaging online sailing simulation game.

For the past three years, Virtual Regatta and the CYCA have teamed up together to bring the best experience for eSailors, and a chance to compete in this legendary race. In 2018, the virtual online race attracted more than 46,000 skippers racing south to the finish line in Hobart.

Gamers sail the 628-nautical-mile race, in real time, using current weather data and their best navigational skills. In 2018, Eagle Black TPN was the eventual winner, in 2 days, 21hrs and 54mins - who will it be in 2019?

The successful partnership between Virtual Regatta and the CYCA has made the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race increasingly popular with the online eSailing community as well as making it more accessible for the public to join the fun. 

This year Virtual Regatta expects approximately 50,000+ eSailors on the starting line. With a day before the start, almost 30,000 players have already signed up and registered to be challenged in one of the world's toughest offshore races, all from the comfort of their home.
