The finish line is a hive of activity at the moment, with Prospector, Voodoo, Winning Appliances and Ichi Ban arriving in Hobart since the 1800hrs update. Naval Group, Noahs II and Hollywood Boulevard are due to finish within the next hour.
As expected, the Derwent breeze has shut down with nightfall, with most crews registering little more than 5 knots.
Alive currently sits in first place on IRC, with Ichi Ban now unable to replicate her victory in last year's Rolex Sydney Hobart. "We never underestimated how challenging it is... you've got to get everything right. That's what makes the Rolex Sydney Hobart such a great challenge and such a wonderful race," Allen said. More from Matt and Ichi Ban to come.
