New South Wales boats Whisper and No Limit struggled to find wind ever since rounding Tasman Island earlier this morning for the final run home up the Derwent River.

Maxi yacht LawConnect earlier claimed line honours in the pre-dawn darkness at 0235 hours.

Sam Haynes, Commodore of race organiser, Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, sailed his charter, Celestial V70, to second over the line at 0510 hours, with Wild Thing100 finishing at 0537 hours.

At 1416, Whisper, No Limit and Caro began picking up speed, to complete the 628 nautical mile course, after earlier working with speeds of between 2.8 and 1.5 knots.

Now, they are tracking at between 7 and 10 knots.  Both Whisper and No Limit searched for wind south west of Tasman Island, while Caro dived further south in search of wind.

Following this trio, the main part of the fleet has cleared the Bass Strait or are working their way out of it.
