Derek Kerr and Ragnar are regulars on the race course in New Zealand, contesting races such as the 500 nautical mile Helly Hansen Three Kings Offshore Race, which he did double handed with this Jeanneau Sun Fast 3300 in 2024, beset by 30 plus knot squalls that ripped across the start line, abetted by torrential rain. Ragnar got through it and finished when half the fleet did not.

This year, Ragnar contested the Evolution Sail Northern Triangle on home waters and posted 10^th place overall. There are three other Sun Fast 3300s in this Hobart: Borderline, Hip-Nautic and Toucan. All are sailing double handed, so the fleet will provide some great in-house competition for each other. Kiwis are notably great sailors so expect good things from Ragnar in her first Rolex Sydney Hobart.
