Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo is a Reichel/Pugh design, built totally of carbon fibre and featuring a canting keel and twin rudders. Owner/skipper Neville Crichton took line honours in the 2002 Rolex Sydney Hobart with his previous boat and is this year aiming for the prestigious double of line and handicap honours, and possibly a race record. With five 30 metre boats expected on the start line, it will be a titanic battle to reach Hobart first.
At her first race out of Sydney, Alfa Romeo has taken line honours, broken the record and placed 2nd on corrected time in the 180nm Cabbage Tree Island race.
