America’s Cup winning tactician Hugh Treharne built this boat for his own use after the 1983 victory at Newport, Rhode Island, and named her Bright Morning Star. A syndicate of members of Sydney Amateur Sailing Club now own the much-travelled 51-footer which has finished all 13 Rolex Sydney Hobart Races the boat has entered, including a 3rd on PHS in 2001. Has also sailed in 13 Gosford to Lord Howe Island Races, finishing 2nd PHS in 2004 and 2nd again this year. BMS has also gained PHS placings in the Sydney Gold Coast Race.
