Shogun
Shogun is a brand new DK46 which made it offshore racing debut by winning the Apollo Bay Race in Bass Strait. In August, she competed in the Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race, Hogs Breath Race Week and Hamilton Island Hahn Premium Race Week, having mixed success in these events. However, Shogun and her crew enjoyed some close boat-for-boat racing with the two other DK46s in the Hamilton Island fleet, Dekadence and Hollywood Boulevard and that experience will pay dividends in preparing for the 2005 Rolex Sydney Hobart Race. In the Melbourne to Stanley race in late October, Shogan finished an impressive 2nd in the IRC division.
Owner/skipper Rob Hanna has put together an experienced crew with Geelong sailmaker Tony Bull aboard as a tactician and sail trimmer.
