Swish

Swish has been a regular competitor in major East Coast races over the past 5 years, but this will be the Sydney 38’s first trip to Hobart.  Encouraged by a regular crew who boast a wealth of local and international experience, owner Steve Proud is hoping for a strong performance in what will be a strongly contested Sydney 38 one -design division. 

Navigator John van Ogtrop will be sailing his 9th Rolex Sydney Hobart while others in the crew include Jules Hall and Will Hamilton who together helmed Disko Trooper to a strong finish in the 2005 Fastnet Race.  The ‘engine room’ comprising Geoff Barnum, Oliver Lee, Kars Meyboom and Jamie Rodger have together sailed over 10,000 offshore miles on Swish since 2001, with 18-footer sailor Matt Stoeckel rounding up the crew and sailing his third race to Hobart.
