The CYCA’s 2006-2007 Australian Ocean Racer of the Year, Ray Roberts has been sailing this canting keel Cookson with great success on the eastern Australian seaboard, winning the 2007 Skandia Geelong Week, the Audi Sydney Gold Coast Race in 2007 and 2008, the Brisbane to Gladstone Race in 2008 and the Meridien Airlie Beach Race Week in 2008. Roberts has also achieved success in Asia winning the Koh Samui Regatta (overall IRC Racing Class) and being awarded the 2007-08 AY Grand Prix Champions having won four major Asian regattas (including Koh Samui) and scored second place at two other events. So far the Tattersall’s Cup is the one trophy that has eluded him and his top crew, which they want rectified. In the 2007 Rolex Sydney Hobart race, Quantum Racing finished 3rd IRC Overall and 1st in Division A.
