Yendys
Geoff Ross’ purpose built Reichel/Pugh 55 Yendys, the first grand prix yacht out of McConaghy International’s boatyard in China, was launched just prior to the Rolex Trophy in 2006 to attempt a second overall win in the Rolex Sydney Hobart after claiming this honour with his former Yendys in 1999. Ross has already recorded some notable results including 2nd in division 1 in 2006 Rolex Trophy and winner of the IRC Racing division at the 2007 Audi Hamilton Island Race Week. Additionally Yendys placed 2nd in the 2007 Rolex Trophy in Division 0/1 and 3rd in the 2007 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race (Division B). In the 2008 Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race Yendys finished third over the line and 2nd in IRC Division 1.
Yendys carries a sail number of 1836 - the year Geoff's ancestors first arrived in Hobart via convict transportation.
