Aurora
Aurora has completed the last every Hobart since 1998. Built in 1983 she still remains competitive in the right conditions. With good crew experience on board, including the husband and wife team of Jim (sailing in his 22nd Rolex Sydney Hobart race) and Mary Holley (sailing in her 13th), this one-off Farr 40 is in a strong position to equal or better her 2007 results. Joining the crew this year will be Irish Olympic hopeful Alan O’Connell.
Now based at the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club, Aurora achieved her best results in the two heavy weather Hobarts of 1998 and 1999, where she finished 2nd and 3rd in division respectively.
