Knee Deep

Knee Deep

Knee Deep is a 15.3m racing yacht that was purchased by its current owners in May last year.  Built in Sydney by Boatspeed in 1999, she was launched in November that year and went to win the Sydney Hobart yacht race and claim the Tattersall’s Cup raced by previous owner Geoff Ross under the name Yendys.

Knee Deep raced for many years on the east coast before going into early retirement.  After making a bid for the boat at auction, the current owners gave her lots of TLC including a new set of sails.  The crew of 14 consists of the core from previous Hobart challenges with the addition of several very experienced off shore sailors and skippered by Knee Deep Wines owner, Perth surgeon Phil Childs.  Knee Deep recently claimed line honours in the Fremantle to Albany Race.
