Charlie's Dream
In her first Rolex Sydney Hobart, Charlie’s Dream placed second in the Cruising Division; followed by a fourth place in the Cruising Division of the 2009 Brisbane to Gladstone Race. Last year, owner Peter Lewis entered the boat into PHS Division for the Gosford Lord Howe Island, where she finished into first position; following this with an eighth placing in PHS division 2 of the Rolex Sydney Hobart. This year, Charlie’s Dream is taking on the challenge of IRC racing.
Charlie's Dream was built in Australia by Bluewater Cruising Yachts and designed for comfortable cruising. The original design was modified to give a shoal draft keel of 1.7 m and extra aft deck space and storage. Extras include a self tacking staysail, hydraulic swim platform, electric winches, bow thruster, genset and air conditioning. The galley includes a microwave and separate fridge and freezer. A second fridge in the cockpit ensures the crew are well catered for.
