Shepherd Centre
Dr Hugh Torode has changed the name of his yacht to Shepherd Centre for the Rolex Sydney Hobart. Last year the yacht finished mid-fleet and this year they plan to improve on that result. A strong result in the recent Cabbage Tree Island Race has the crew planning to sail hard to achieve a top three divisional finish for this race.
The crew is excited and proud to be representing the Shepherd Centre which assists 200 deaf children aged 0-5 years old, every year. It costs $15,000 per year per child of which 75% has to be generated through fundraising. They are aiming to attract at least 10 corporate/personal sponsorships of $2,000 each. All payments are 100% tax deductible and go to the Shepherd Centre and all sponsors’ names will appear on the sides of the yacht.
