Dodo

Dodo has been a part of the race since 2003.

The boat is a Sydney 38 with it’s best performance being a 3rd overall in 2009.  The boat is crewed by a mix of offshore and inshore sailors who have over 30 Hobart and Fastnet races between them.  The crew mix ranges from 18 foot skiff, 49er and foiling Moth sailors through to “old-hands” from the maxi days.

The crew is lead by Adrian Dunphy, a former Windsurfing world champion, 18 foot skiff sailor and one design sailor who in 2010 was Australia’s representative at the Scandinavian Gold Cup in Lake Garda, Italy.  This will be his 10th Hobart as Skipper and believes the crew is a good blend of youth and experience as part of the team’s philosophy every year is to introduce 2 new members to the Offshore fraternity.  This year, one such member will be David Chapman, the current Australian Sydney 38 Champion tactician who has been poached from fellow Sydney 38 team, The Goat.
