Lahana
Lahana is a fixed keel water ballasted 98ft yacht, built in 2003 in New Zealand. She was the most modern yacht of her time and originally owned by Stewart Thwaites who variously named her Zana and Konica Minolta, before Peter Millard and his brother-in-law purchased her in 2009. The duo is committed to improving her performance, which showed up in the results in last year's Rolex Sydney Hobart, where she finished third on line, sixth overall, second in IRC Division 1 and fourth in ORCi Division 1 and more recently in the Cabbage Tree Island Race when she finished second on line toWild Oats XIand a good third overall.
Last year, Lahana claimed line honours in the Brisbane to Gladstone and was declared the overall winner of the Club Marine Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Island Yacht Race. Aboard are some heavyweight ocean racers, many from George Snow's successful Brindabella days, including Tony Hearder, Geoff Cropley, Peter Sheldrick and Steve Byron, all of whom have sailed over 20 Hobarts
