Grace O'Malley
In with a big chance for handicap honours in a little boat race. The Cookson 12, formerly named Pazzaz was purchased last year by Zoe Taylor and named after the pirate Grace O’Malley whose strength appealed to Taylor. She won last year’s Cabbage Tree Island race against a hot fleet and this year the battle with near sister ship Sail Exchange could settle the division prize if not overall honours. Last year placed down in 40th overall and sixth in division after the weather locked out the smaller boats. At the 2017/2018 Blue Water Pointscore Prizegiving Taylor was rewarded for the first season as a boat owner by receiving the Ocean Rookie of the Year and EC “Boy” Messenger Memorial Trophy awards. Finished 14th on IRC in the 2018 Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race.
