Gun Runner
Gun Runner is the Australian Army yacht and operated by the Army Sailing Club. Each year the Club and yacht introduce more than 200 soldiers to inshore and offshore sailing by entering over 70 races, including the CYCA Blue Water Series and Sydney Hobart, and by conducting over 75 days of training offshore along the east coast of Australia. The crew are always current serving Army members with a variety of operational experience. The Club’s focus is to promote resilience in the participants whilst promoting both the sport of sailing within Army, the Army values of Courage, Initiative, Respect and Teamwork. Finished at the tail of the field in 2017, its first Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.
