Jackpot is a J122 Racer/Cruiser. The boat has had a successful nine-year IRC racing career under the previous owner. This included a 2nd overall in the 2016 Pittwater-Coffs Harbour Race and the boat also competed in the 2016 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. The boat is currently competing in twilight racing with the intent of competing in some regatta events and some passage racing. Recently took the boat to Hamilton Island Race Week and managed to win the last race in IRC Div 4. “I am really excited about our crew for this year’s Hobart. I’ve been sailing dinghies since age 11 and progressed through skiffs to yachts,” said Hale. “I competed in three Hobarts in my 20s. I always wanted to undertake the challenge of the Hobart as an Owner/Skipper. The purchase of Jackpot with two mates Matt and Peter has made that possible.”
