Wings
Wings is a new Dehler 46 launched November 2017 for Lindy and Ian Edwards, replacing Beneteau First 40.7 FireFly which has been sailing regularly at RPAYC and RMYCBB. Competed in the 2018 PONANT Sydney Noumea Yacht Race, finishing in sixth on line honours, second on IRC in Division 2, and PHS 2nd overall. The crew enjoys sailing together, the journey, sailing as fast as they can and, in longer offshore races, ensuring they have the best boat food! Ian says that “Competing in this year’s Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race will round out a great year of sailing for Wings and the team”. After just returning from a 5800nm journey starting with the 2018 PONANT Sydney Noumea Yacht Race, followed by the Groupama Around New Caledonia Race, race weeks at Airlie, Hamilton and Magnetic Islands and some enjoyable cruising for Lindy and Ian, they are eager to keep the momentum going.
