Black Sheep

The Black Sheep crew predominantly consists of a bunch of young(ish) Hobart fathers, who between busy work and family schedules, are trying to indulge in their passion for offshore yachting. Most of the lads grew up sailing dinghies, with or against each other, on the River Derwent. Owners Matt Pilkington and Rob Gourlay purchased the well proven ocean racer early last year with the specific goal of competing in the 75th anniversary race. They are looking to improve on last year’s result where they finished 25th overall and 4th in Division 3. Matt's grandfather competed in the first ever race in 1945!
