Cailin Lomhara
A sturdy cruiser, Cailin Lomhara (Irish Gaelic meaning Precious Girl), is a Robert Perry design. She is hull #69, built in 1999 as a live aboard cruiser/occasional racer. Lawrence Green is the original owner and has sailed the boat around 53,000 nautical miles, with a longest non-stop passage of nearly 3400 miles from Galapagos to Marquesas. Before departing on his circumnavigation, he and wife Charlene sailed extensively on the east coast of North America, the Bahamas and Caribbean. Arriving in Australia in early June, they have since had an interesting time cruising the east coast, with some casual regattas thrown in. Lawrence Green said, “Since we are in Australia, we couldn’t pass the opportunity to compete in the 75th Sydney Hobart. The boat is our home, thus loaded down with lots of stuff. However, we believe we can effectively compete.”
