Chancellor
As the third of Ted's Beneteaus named Chancellor, the First 47.7 was bought in 2013. Their objective is to get to Hobart safely in one piece. They seek to have as many crew as possible do their first Rolex Sydney Hobart on Chancellor, with the normal crew including at least four women and five international sailors. A strictly Corinthian crew, Chancellor has five crew doing their first Rolex Sydney Hobart.
This year, there are six Beneteau 47.7s in the race, and they will be seeking to be competitive in our class IRC/ORCI. With the Chancellor’s continued success, her competitive edge is attributed to addressing sailing’s gender inequality in crew selection, welcoming members from a range of backgrounds and fully recognising each person's potential.
