Envy Scooters
This year has witnessed Queensland’s TP52 ENVY Scooters continually improve in every aspect from 2018. With a scorecard for the four major events entered this year of 1,1,2,1, the crew and boat are arguably the best performing IRC yacht in Australia this year. Scoring significant victories in the Brisbane Gladstone Race overall in IRC and ORCi (the third time this boat has won the event under three different names) more was to come. Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron’s Commodore Barry Cuneo and his tightly knit crew, headed by the tenacious tactician Kevin Costin, not only won all major silverware in the Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Race, but were also the first boat to finish under 60ft, only just behind the mini maxis and ahead of the in-form Ichi Ban.
This boat and crew have become faster and faster in all aspects as the team continues to drive incremental improvements in their management of this incredibly well-performing machine. ENVY Scooters spearheads a strong Queensland contingent in this year’s Rolex Sydney Hobart and will be a Tattersall Cup contender.
