Gun Runner
The smallest boat in the fleet with the smallest budget, (her annual budget is less than the cost of a new main for a 32 footer), Gun Runner packed a punch last year, when Reece Young skippered the Jarkan 925 to 50th overall for fourth in Division 4 and won the Corinthian trophy. In the 2017 race she was the second smallest and finished 77th overall. Owned by the Army Sailing Club, the Aussie designed boat will feature the usual new-look crew, led by Maurice ‘Reece’ Young again. Murray Stewart, the erstwhile first mate, is the only crew member with Hobart experience. The Army uses the boat to train its soldiers and instil the Army values of courage, initiative, respect and teamwork. Team Army is once again looking forward to beating their rivals, the Navy.
