Global Yacht Racing is a UK company offering yacht racing opportunities to individuals and groups in major races and regattas around the world. 2019 will be the 15th time Global Yacht Racing has entered a team into the iconic Rolex Sydney Hobart Race, the first time they have used Ragamuffin 50, previous years have seen them compete with crews from around the world on a TP52, Volvo 60, Sydney 38 and Beneteau 47.7. Global Yacht Racing also enters teams into the other Rolex events, The Rolex Fastnet, the Rolex Middle Sea Race as well as RORC Caribbean 600 and major regattas in the UK, Med and Caribbean. Skipper Marcus Cholerton Brown is an ex Round the World sailor previously racing with Challenge and Clipper and who has skippered many events for Global Yacht Racing.
Originally ‘Will’, Syd Fischer chartered her for the 1991 Admiral’s Cup, then bought it and competed at the 1992 Kenwood Cup, after which the boat came to Australia. That year Fischer celebrated his 25th Hobart by winning the race under IOR (in conjunction with IMS winner, Assassin).
