Mako
As CEO of Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club, Paul O’Rourke will be proudly representing the Club with Mako in its first Rolex Sydney Hobart. Formerly Questionable Logic, this Sydney 40 was built for the 1999 Admiral’s Cup and was part of the winning Dutch Team, sailing as Trust Computer Products. It was also known as Pride and raced in several Fastnet races. In 2018 it was bought by a syndicate out of NCYC to compete in regattas on the east coast. In a prelude to the main event, O’Rourke has completed the full northern circuit: Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Race (PHS seventh), Hamilton Island, Airlie Beach and SeaLink Magnetic Island race weeks. It’s back to serious offshore racing now.
