Maserati

For the 75^th Sydney Hobart, Polish yachtsmen Jacek Piotrowski and Jacek Siwek bring a group of fellow country men to Jim Cooney’s Volvo 70 Maserati as charterers. Maserati has been given a comprehensive and timely ocean-going preparation she is ready to take the Polish crew, supported by five Aussies who all know the boat well on the great race south. 

Cooney bought Maserati (the ex Ericsson 3) in 2016, after legendary yachtsman, Giovani Soldini, raced her to fourth on line and 22^nd overall in the 2015 Rolex Sydney Hobart. Cooney finished sixth on line and seventh overall in the 2016 Rolex Sydney Hobart – the last big boat to finish before the breeze shut down and locked out her opponents. Maserati was third on line to Wild Oats XI and Black Jack in the 2017 Sydney Gold Coast, the last time she was raced offshore.
