Mister Lucky

Mister Lucky

Mister Lucky was launched in the UK in March 2016 and has since competed in the UK and Australia. Major races include the Solo Fastnet Race, OSTAR, Rolex Sydney Hobart and the double-handed Melbourne Osaka Race. The Jeanneau Sun Fast 3600 had her first Sydney Hobart experience in 2017 and finished 33rd overall and won ORCi Division 4. This was great preparation for the 5,000 nm 2018 Melbourne Osaka Race, in which Mark Hipgrave and Rohan Wood sailed to fifth in IRC. Mark and Rohan were thrilled to learn the CYCA was adding the Rolex Sydney Hobart to its new two-handed calendar for 2020, so expect to see them on the start line in that configuration for next year’s race.

The crew has extensive experience as short handed sailors in Sun Fast 3600s. Todd Giraudo and Dubbo White also competed in the 2018 Melbourne-Osaka Race (gaining second place), while Rob Craigie and Deb Fish have already completed the Rolex Fastnet and Rolex Middle Sea races this year. The challenge for this Rolex Sydney Hobart will be getting three Two Handed crews to gel as a full crew.  What could possibly go wrong? Deb will skipper the boat, in an attempt to add the trophy for the best female skipper in this Rolex Sydney Hobart to the one she currently holds for the 2019 Rolex Fastnet Race.
