Nautical Circle
Nautical Circle last sailed to Hobart with Ian Prentice as skipper in 2013 and finished 40th overall, following a disappointing retirement in 2010, her first tilt at the race. Robin Shaw, who is to steer her south this year, was second in command on this boat in 2013. In recent times, he entered the Archambault 40 in the 2019 Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Race and finished PHS eighth, and was IRC 12th in the Newcastle Bass Island Race. In between, Nautical Circle competes in local events with good results, with a first place in the 2017 Australian Championships PHS as a highlight. Come the Rolex Sydney Hobart, Nautical Circle will be evaluating her performance against the likes of fellow A40, Arcadia, along with other boats of a similar size.
