Optimus Prime
Trevor Taylor last brought Optimus Prime over from the west to do the great race in 2014, when he finished 42nd overall. In the 2011 Rolex Sydney Hobart, Optimus Prime placed 51st overall, following on from her 24th overall and sixth in Division 2 in 2008. Taylor is an experienced offshore racing skipper, including winning the Siska Trophy awarded to the WA Offshore champion, and returns to the race after a five-year break. He normally sails the boat 2,500 nautical miles to take our 628 nautical mile race on and his past sailing exploits include the Clipper Round the World Race, Melbourne Osaka double handed race, a circumnavigation of Australia and a handful of Sydney Hobarts.
