Packaponch Scamp
In her last Rolex Sydney Hobart in 2017, Scamp got off to a positive start, with Mike Mollison and crew very much looking forward to the race. However, she had to make a stop in Eden and then retired off Tasman Island, in both cases due to sail damage. In the 2015 Rolex Sydney Hobart – her first – they finished 17th overall under ORCi. Launched in 2014, this Beneteau First 45 is the second boat owned by Angela and Mike Mollison to bear the name Scamp and is usually sailed by family and friends. Her name is based on the first names of the Mollison family, appealing to the sense of fun and humour of her owners and crew. Scamp has mostly been racing on Moreton Bay, but has also contested the Brisbane Gladstone, Brisbane Keppel and Noakes Sydney Gold Coast races. This year the boat is sponsored by Ponch, a company that uses sustainable fabrics for all of its products.
