Smuggler

This year sees the Smuggler Racing Team take their program to the next level with the purchase of the TP52 Celestial, which has been quickly prepared for the 75^th Sydney Hobart. When asked about the upgrade skipper Sebastian Bohm and second in charge, Sam Price, looked at each other, laughed and said, “We are now launching this program into the stratosphere!”. Armed with a competitive TP52, a solid crew and an incredibly loud shore crew, this promises to be one of the boats to watch this year.

Bohm and Price have spent many hours on the water together and have had great success on the Rogers 46 Smuggler, taking out every division in the PONANT Sydney Noumea in 2018 and sixth overall in the 2017 Rolex Sydney Hobart. The boat has been very competitive as Celestial under Sam Haynes and was placed second overall in the Audi Centre Sydney Blue Water Pointscore when he sold the boat to Bohm. This will be the boat’s 10^th Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and the crew are looking forward to the great race south.
