CYCA Vice Commodore, Noel Cornish, was thrilled with 14^th overall to win Division last year. A good result was on the cards when his Sydney 47 scored triple victory in the 2018 Cabbage Tree Island Race, winning IRC/ORCi/PHS; beating Ichi Ban and other TP52s. She finished third in the 2016 Blue Water Pointscore. He led October’s Newcastle Bass Island Race for a time to ultimately finish fourth. Cornish, the Vice Commodore of the CYCA, has done every Hobart since 2008. If conditions favour the 40 to 50 footers, St Jude will be a front runner. Peter Messenger has completed 29 Sydney Hobarts, making this year’s race on St Jude his 30^th. This momentous occasion will be celebrated by the crew by racing hard to Hobart, where family will meet them at the dock.
