St Jude
CYCA Vice Commodore, Noel Cornish, was thrilled with 14th overall to win Division last year. A good result was on the cards when his Sydney 47 scored triple victory in the 2018 Cabbage Tree Island Race, winning IRC/ORCi/PHS; beating Ichi Ban and other TP52s. She finished third in the 2016 Blue Water Pointscore. He led October’s Newcastle Bass Island Race for a time to ultimately finish fourth. Cornish, the Vice Commodore of the CYCA, has done every Hobart since 2008. If conditions favour the 40 to 50 footers, St Jude will be a front runner. Peter Messenger has completed 29 Sydney Hobarts, making this year’s race on St Jude his 30th. This momentous occasion will be celebrated by the crew by racing hard to Hobart, where family will meet them at the dock.
