Stay Calm Hungary
This is the TP52 that was named M3, which last year represented the first ever Hungarian entry in the race when chartered by Aron ‘Roni’ Ormandlaki, but was unfortunately dismasted early in the race and retired. It gave Ormandlaki, a local yacht rigger, the impetus to try for Hungary again. This past July, he finished 15th overall in the Noakes Sydney Gold Coast race. Ormandlaki had previously crewed on Nautical Circle in 2013 Rolex Sydney Hobart and Papillon in 2014. In 2017 as M3, the boat finished the Hobart 17th for ninth in Division 1 under owner Peter Hickson with Geoff Hill. M3 placed 42nd overall in the 2016 Rolex Sydney Hobart after Hickson purchased the former Stay Calm/Calm in September 2015 and blitzed the WA circuit. M3’s forestay shredded just after the start of the 2015 Rolex Sydney Hobart and they retired. Under Victorian ownership from 2009 as Calm, the boat contested the Hobart in 2012 and was best placed TP52 in fifth overall, finishing fifth again in 2013. WA’s Tony Mitchell was her next owner until Hickson bought the boat. The boat is now in fully Hungarian hands with her original name. The boat is back in her old glory, with an unused rig from her sister ship, and lots of love from Roni Rigging and Racing.
