Flying Cloud
Flying Cloud was previously owned and regularly raced by Howard Piggott, a past CYCA Commodore, who made the boat’s racing debut in the Club’s Grant Thornton Short Ocean Autumn Pointscore 2010, eventually winning IRC Division 1. Flying Cloud placed second in the CYCAs Spring Series in 2015 and won both races in the CYCA's 2015 Trophy Passage. The Beneteau First 40 also competed in the 2018 Ponant Sydney Noumea Yacht Race and placed ninth overall. Now with a new owner, David Myers, and based at Middle Harbour Yacht Club, Flying Cloud has entered the 2021 Audi Centre Sydney Blue Water Pointscore in preparation for the yacht’s first Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. George Martin, who skippered Flying Fish Arctos in the 2019 race, will skipper the boat south this year.
