Celestial
Another ex-MedCup TP52, Celestial was purchased by CYCA Vice Commodore Sam Haynes in 2019. Since then and with each edition of the race, Haynes has made steady improvements and gains with the boat, finishing 2nd overall in 2021 and claiming the ultimate prize in 2022, fulfilling a lifelong dream of winning the Tattersall Cup. The crew include a number of graduates from the CYCA Youth Sailing Academy amongst a stellar line up of other crew, including Navigator James Dagge and Boat Captain Jack Macartney. Away from the Rolex Sydney Hobart, Sam also campaigns his other, smaller Celestial, a J/70, where he represented the CYCA and Australia at the 2023 World Championship in November.
