Alithia
A first Sydney Hobart for the Solaris 80RS, Alithia, built in Trieste, Italy specifically for a circumnavigation rounding the famous Capes. Owner, Jost Stollmann, an entrepreneur, circumnavigated over two years in his previous 130ft Alithia, with his wife and five kids in 2002-2003.
The yacht hit a reef in Fiji, finding Stollmann in Brisbane to have the yacht surveyed for structural damage. He says, “We ended up falling in love with Australia and settled in Sydney in 2004.” On board with Stollmann are a highly experienced crew, including offshore sailors, father and son, Friedrich and Arno Boehnert, who did their only Hobart on Friedrich’s Lunatix in 2018. Locals include, Jim Nixon who will race his 31st Hobart and Adrian Gruzman, whose Hobarts include skippering his own yacht, Anthanta VI, in 1987 and 1991.
