BACK 2 BLACK

From Sean Langman’s many entries in the Sydney Hobart, Back 2 Black is the one he feels could win him the race. For the 80^th race, Langman, head of Noakes, has the GP42 he renamed Back 2 Black, for the song co-written and sung by the late Amy Winehouse. Langman represented the CYCA at the 2025 Admiral’s Cup with this yacht, alongside Zen and they finished fifth overall from 15 teams and with good individual results from both boats.

Last year, his entry was the now 70-year-old Illingworth & Penrose designed Kismet, sailing double handed with old friend Peter Inchbold and arriving in Hobart in time to just before dawn onYear’s Day. In 2023, it was Moneypenny, the RP69, he scored his best result yet with, third overall, before selling her to Rob Appleyard, who has her in the race this year.
