First Light
Elizabeth Tucker raced on Xanthus last year but comes to the race with her own boat for the 80th Hobart. First Light is a Class 40 yacht she bought in Europe and sailed back to Australia two-handed with the yacht’s former owner, Cole Brauer, a most experienced yachtswoman. Tucker’s main game is the 2027 Global Solo Challenge.
In the meantime, her first offshore race with the boat was the Pittwater to Coffs Harbour race where she finished 10th overall. Tucker took on the 2025 Noakes Sydney Gold Coast race and placed 18th overall and second in Division 1. Both races were done with an all-female crew and the mandate for the ACSBWPS of which the Rolex Sydney Hobart is the final race, is the same.
